Tallow soap is true soap made from beef tallow, plant oils and lye using the cold-process method. Our tallow comes from Ohio farms. Unlike most store-bought bars, which are synthetic detergent bars, our tallow bars contain no SLS, no SLES and no phthalates. Read our story →

Every true soap is made with lye. During curing, the lye reacts with the fats and oils and turns into soap and glycerin, so no lye is left in a finished, properly cured bar.

Every bar is hand-poured, hand-cut and cured in Hamilton, Ohio for at least two weeks, and many recipes cure for four. A properly cured bar is harder, gentler and lasts longer in the shower.

Our bars are scented with either essential oils or phthalate-free fragrance oils. Each product page lists exactly which one, along with the full ingredient list.

Our tallow bars are free of SLS, SLES and phthalates, which many people with sensitive skin prefer. Everyone's skin is different, so check the ingredient list on the product page and patch test first. Not sure which bar to try? Ask us and we'll help you pick.

Let it dry out between uses. Keep it on a draining soap dish or tray, out of the shower stream. A soap saver bag also helps you use up the last little pieces.

Yes. Local pickup at our shop, 229 Main Street in Hamilton, Ohio, is always free. Just choose pickup at checkout.

We ship to select countries. Rates and delivery times vary, and any customs fees or import taxes are paid by the customer on arrival.

Because our products are handmade personal care items, we don't accept returns. If something arrives damaged or we sent the wrong scent, tell us within 7 days of delivery. If you're not happy with your purchase, reach out within 30 days and we'll offer a replacement bar, a different scent or shop credit. Sale items and gift cards are final sale. Full refund policy →

You get a new small-batch tallow bar every month. Each month's scent is poured in a batch of just 30 bars and ships on the 28th, and your first bar ships within 30 days of joining. Choose monthly ($6.99 a bar), every 2 months ($7.99 a bar) or a single bar ($7.99, no subscription). Join the club →
